#MOTM: june makeup of the month

Hi everyone! So I know last month I skipped up on my Makeup Of The Month post, so I made up for it big time this month with TWO amazinnnnnnggggg products that you NEED to get: Maybelline Master Concealer and Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow. I have one drug store and one luxury brand to even out the playing field. My always obliging BFF Natalie modeled off these products for me at the end so stick around to see what they look like in action. So, without further ado- here’s June’s #MOTM!

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Conceal

The Scoop-

I probably have the world’s DARKEST dark undereye circles. I’ve spent years trying to remedy this: creams, treatments, serums- you name it, I’ve tried it. SO, when all else fails, I put on my concealer, and this one is MAGICAL. It’s $7.99 at Target, which is where I purchased it. ($8.99 if you buy it at Ulta) I got the shade 10 Fair which I believe is the lightest shade because I’m super pale and it makes it bright enough for highlighting.

The Overview-

Honestly, this concealer is amazing. My gorgeous, wonderful Pro-Makeup artist friend, Ashley Marcello (find her on Instagram @marcello_makeup), recommended I try it after hearing all the buzz around it for a couple weeks. Even she agrees that MAC Pro Longwear concealer has met its match. This concealer has pretty much everything you could ask for:

– Great coverage

– Lightweight and smooth

-Doesn’t crease/smudge

– Works with all skin types (oily, dry, uneven, mix, etc.)

The Scoop-

This isn’t really a new product by any means, but it’s one I’ve been a little nervous to try out, and BOY am I glad I did. I got the Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown and Brush #7 at Ulta, both $18 each ($36 total). You’re technically supposed to use Brush #12 with the Pomade, but I find that this shorter brush works much easier for me.

The Overview-

I don’t think I knew what a perfect eyebrow game was until this product came into my life. Seriously, it’s THAT incredible. Dipbrow is a pomade formula that is waterproof, glide on, stays on, doesn’t smudge and works for everyone, no matter what your natural brows look like. However, this also means you have to be extremely precise with your angled brush in order to achieve maximum brow satisfaction.

I added this product into my staple brow routine. After I apply Dipbrow, I’ll perfect and shape using my NYX Wonder Pencil in “Light” and brush/set them with my Benefit Gimme Brow (see above photo). I pretty much replaced Brow Wiz in my routine. And, to be honest, you get WAY more bang for your buck here because Brow Wiz will last me maybe a month or so and I have to buy a new one. Dipbrow will last me SOOOO much longer before I’ll need to replace it.

The Look-

Last night I, again, got Natalie (nataliewantsaburrito) to model off my new products. We obviously used a lighter shade of Dipbrow, but the same shade of concealer.

Soft pink eyes were achieved with the Naked 3 palette (aka my favorite palette) and a beautiful contour with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit and a sweeping of blush from Estee Lauder. As you can see in the photos below, Master Conceal pretty much rocks out the highlighting game, and her brows are fuller and more shapely thanks to Dipbrow.

Lip (because I know most will want to know) ALL NYX PRODUCTS:

Lip liner in “Peekaboo Neutral”

Soft Matte Lip Creme in “Istanbul”

Simply Nude Lip Cream in “Fairest” for center

Butter Lip Gloss in “Eclair”

The Review-

All in all, these two products stepped up my makeup game to a new level. Who knew drugstore concealer could beat out a luxury staple, or that switching up your brow products could change your face game by that much? Both are high quality and do exactly what you need them to do. The reason I haven’t given either a perfect 5-star rating is because: For concealer, I still want to believe there’s an even more perfect one out there. For Dipbrow, you need to be a pro to handle this pomade, which makes it a little more difficult to use if you’re not used to challenging yourself with makeup.

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Conceal- 4.8/5 stars

ABV Dipbrow- 4.7/5 stars

Thanks for viewing my MOTM for June! If I get enough feedback, I might go ahead and post a tutorial for Dipbrow, and maybe even a highlighting and contouring one as well. Let me know what you think!
