The big beauty trend of 2016 so far seems to be color correcting. Although this technique has been used in the industry pretty much since the beginning, every brand these days is pushing this “trend.” Beauty Blender came out with a collection of color coordinated applicators, Tarte has a new cream palette, NYX has colored setting powders, MUFE has primers, the list goes on. And yes, I color correct everyday, I need it and I enjoy it. I do it on myself and my clients, but it is important to understand that there is no universal way to color correct. Just like everyone has their own shades of foundation that work for their skin tone, everyone has their own individual color correcting needs. I have seen far too many outrageous Instagram and YouTube “tutorials” on this technique, and feel that nearly 90% of what is out there is so unnecessary and is not coming from a place of knowledge or experience, but rather just hopping on the trend. If you’re one of the countless people out there looking at these videos and thinking “How the F*#% do I do that and why would I need to?” then stick around for this post. I’m going to lay out the color correcting basics for you and hopefully help you begin to understand what might work for you and your needs, and what is just completely wrong.
Hi guys! So this is something that I’ve been asked about constantly since I started publicizing my makeup: How does your skin look so flawless?
Hi you guys! So this is something I’ve been wanting to share for a couple of months now and I finally can!
As promised, I have an amazing list of my top makeup products for Fall 2015! These are all products that I pretty much use on a daily basis! I mixed in drug store and high-end products, for some variety. All of these products will keep you looking flawless for the season. I’ve been using all of them for a long time now, so I can vouch for the quality and the longevity of each one! So, in no particular order, here are my Fall Favorites!
Happy Monday! This week is going to be tough, getting back in the swing of work after a long holiday weekend, but one thing that might help is my Makeup of the Month for July! It’s battle of the primers this month, with one luxury brand and one drug store product. So without further ado, here’s #MOTM:
Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Just wanted to drop this quick post because I love my lip color today! Nude lips are my FAVORITE lips. They always look beautiful and are easy to maintain and wear all day. Sometimes a colored lip will flake, smudge, and wear away, which is why it’s totally unrealistic if you’re trying to rock it all day. Yes, even those colors that say “24-hour color” will inevitably fail you. So, if you work in an office setting like I do, a nude lip is the perfect choice. Not only is it simple, but it keeps you looking professional. I have many takes on nude lips, from pink, to brown, to orange, but this is definitely my go-to!
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
